    Polish-Yugoslavian expedition to Tirich Mir 1978. Organized by the Mountaineering Club from Katowice under the direction of Stanisław Rudziński. On August 10, 1978, Jerzy Kukuczka, Tadeusz Piotrowski and Michał Wroczyński climbed Tirich Mir East (7692 m above sea level) by a new route by the eastern ridge. The next day, during the descent, Tadeusz Piotrowski and Jerzy Kukuczka made the first ascent of Bindu Ghul Zom (6340 m above sea level). Tirich Mir East was climbed on August 11 by Matjaž Veselko and Miro Štebe, and on August 13 by Vinko Berčič, Janez Šušteršič and Jerzy Ożóg.
