Polish national expedition to Mount Everest 1980 (spring) led by Andrzej Zawada. On May 19, 1980, Jerzy Kukuczka and Andrzej Czok climbed the summit of Mount Everest (8,848 m above sea level) with a new route, by the southern pillar.
