Silesian expedition to Hindu Kush, organized by Mountaineering Club from Gliwice and Mountaineering Club from Katowice, under the leadership of Tadeusz Kozubek. On August 1, Jerzy Kukuczka climbed alone the south-eastern wall of Kohe Awal (5,800 m above sea level). The next day, three climbers (Janusz Skorek, Marek Łukaszewski and Grzegorz Fligiel) suffered an accident while descending from Kohe Tez. The rescue operation lasted until August 6. On August 11, Janusz Baranek, Stanisław Cholewa, Henryk Natkaniec and Jerzy Kukuczka climbed the summit of Kohe Tez (7,015 m above sea level).
